Yrgal Tidge
Born in 1963 in the western Bummerswitch Highlands of Scotland, Yrgaltidge (born Yrgalkinolia Tidgemont III), was turned on to music at the age of 2. Listening the The Thornberries and Dogthwack, he quickly learned every instrument he could get his hands on. When he turned 16 his Mum tossed himout and he played ocarina on the streets of Perth, Australia for change and the occasional beer.
In 1986 he was spotted by Son Bott, legendary singer for CD/AD, and was brought into the studio, where he recorded his first single "Why Did the Rain Turn Green?", which went to #12 on the English charts.
His big break came when he was picked up by the Japanese record company Groovesnatch inc. While recording he was introduced to Stu Vinyl who was touring the sex palaces of the far East at the time. It was their joy of guitars and Asian Women that bonded the 2 for life, and they went on to form Ocean of Wrath. Their first album, "What the Hell Was That?", went straight to the top of the worldwide charts promting the band to embark on a 2 year long, 350 city, tour, playing to sold out halls from Nome to the South Pole where they finished the tour with an MTV unplugged show performed on New Years Eve.
Tragedy would strike the band in 1991 when Drummer Herb Ivore was killed while attemping to jump his drum kit on a skateboard, breaking his neck and the floor-tom. Yrgal was devastated and went into seclusion for 10 long years.
In 2002 Stu found Yrgal walking the streets of Venice California, begging for change and guitar strings. He convinced him to come back into the studio, where the 2 would go on to form Big Love Tomato. Taking the place of the original band members, of which Stu was the only surviving member, were Quiglar the Bobarian and Ferris OxHide. Shortly after the supporting tour for the album "Do You Mind Getting Away From Me?", Yrgal checked in to the Fetty Bored clinic for an addiction to sunflower seeds and has been seed clean for the past 6 years.
Yrgal is currently working on a Big Love Tomato Greatest Hits package due out in 6-18 months and is hinting at a reunion tour with his old friends Stu, Ferris and Quiglar.
